BREKKY REVIEW: Pompidou Cafe, Bulimba

Pompidou is a cross between French and Australian cuisine. We had herd great things about their delicious once a month dinners, but we decided to stop in quickly for a light brekky.


We opted for the light breakfast menu to start off our week. B had the sourdough toast with homemade raspberry jam $6.50. I had the Spiced Porridge with caramelised pear, pumpkin seeds, maple syrup and slithered almonds $13.50. The homemade jam was delicious and the bread was crunchy and fresh. It’s not often that I opt for porridge as it is a staple that I make at home, although this porridge was thick and creamy and the spices were perfect! The pear could have been caramelised a little bit longer. It was served beautifully and with extra milk for those fussy porridge eaters.

We didn’t try any of the drinks on this visit. They serve Di Bella coffee. I did spy on the menu an Cookies and Cream Thickshake.


Pompidou is on bustling Riding Road in Balmoral, with parking available on site and Barton Street. There is plenty of seating indoors. and outdoors including outdoor heaters! The tables were decorated with a homely touch of fresh flowers.


We went early on a Monday morning so were one of a handful of customers. The waitstaff were very attentive although our meal took longer than expected.

The Verdict: Our time at Pompidou was short but sweet. The staff were attentive and our meals were delicious. My only concern is the wait time when they are busier but we will have to go back to check it out 😉 8/10.
