DINNER REVIEW: Mons Ban Sabai, Camp Hill

Tonight we ventured to Camp Hill to one of the Venzin Groups empires. It doesn’t seem to match the other restaurants in the group but before the Venzin Group had Mons Ban Sabai it had been named the “Best Thai Restaurant in Brisbane.”

Food

We opted to share three dishes. Firstly, we ordered the Pork Laab $21.90. Which was served in lettuce leaves it was zesty and fresh 9/10.

Then the Chicken Pad Thai $19.90 which was served without noodles  and with a thick sauce. It was more like a satay stir fry 6.5/10.

Finally, I chose a classic Thai dish Chicken Pad See Eiw $19.90. It was a large portion served with lots of thick noodles and lots of chilli 6/10.

Service

The restaurant was not overly busy. The wait staff were attentive but our food took over twenty minutes to arrive.

Location

Located next to Picnic Cafe there is plenty of street parking and lots of indoor seating.

The Verdict: Unfortunately I would not call Mons Ban Sabai Brisbanes Best Thai Restaurant. My experience was pleasant but I was anticipating better. 7/10
