BREKKY REVIEW: Gunshop Cafe, West End

Saturday morning brekkys out are a rarity for me so when I have the opportunity I like to make the most of them! I met a friend in West End which is filled with lots of cosy coffee shops and cafes. After heavy deliberation we decided to go Gunshop Cafe.

Food
The menu is fairly pricey. We both couldn’t decide what to get I was tempted by the pork. In the end we both decided on the Avocado Toast served on rye toast with roasted truss tomatoes and labna $16-. And added Two Poached Eggs for a whopping $5.50. The rye was delicious and our meal was presented beautifully.

  Drinks
Serving merlo coffee. The coffee was very tasty although a little warm.

Service

For a busy Saturday morning our coffee and food arrived relatively fast. There was a large table of 12 seated in our area but the staff still managed to look after us.

Location

Just off boundary road Gun Shop Cafe spans two shop fronts. The exposed brick and bench seating gives the place a vintage feel. Parking was difficult to find and I expect would be costly during the week.

The Verdict: Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Gunshop Cafe. My only fault is the cost of my breakfast totalling $21.50 for avocado toast with eggs. Overall a 7/10.
