We were after a reasonably priced, casual, BYO meal on a Saturday night and Home was the perfect location! Home has been around and I had been to home before but not since its renovation, the renovation has given the restaurant a fresh new look.
It was a tough choice between curries, woks, noodles and so much more! We decided on the Yum Ped (crispy skin duck with lychee, coriander) $21.90. The duck was cooked beautifully and the salad was fresh. If I were to be critical I would say that there was too much red onion.
We also had the most popular item on the menu Grandmas Beef Curry $22.90. Slow cooked beef with potato and a fragrant coconut milk curry. The flavours were great but unfortunately the beef was not as tender as anticipated.
Home is BYO and corkage was $2.50 per head.
Home has recently been renovated and boasts bench seats, a fresh coat of paint and candles on each table. It makes a big difference and is very cosy. It is located in the St Lucia Shopping Complex on Hawken Drive in St Lucia.
The restaurant has recently been passed down to the original owners children which is the reason for the revamp and refresh. The staff were all lovely and very accomodation. There was a large table of around 20 but our food still arrived quickly and we were not neglected.
The Verdict: Overall, I would definitely venture back to home. The prices are quite expensive for a uni area but the meals were delicious. A 7/10.
