I know that Avocado Toast (avo-t) is a cafe menu staple and that it has been repeated over and over again but everyone seems to be doing it slightly differently! We decided to create a bible to Brisbane’s best! See below the pictures for our verdict. Keep checking back here, it will keep getting updated. (in alphabetical order)
Adrift Cafe, Chelmer
Adrift’s avocado toast is back to basics. You spread your own and it comes with a spicy tomato relish. $7.
Bellisimo, New Farm
Another back to basics Avo-T great value for money! Avocado on sourdough with lime and Haloumi $7.50.
Chester Street Bakery, New Farm
Chester Street make a damn good avo-t! But you pay for what you get. It comes with feta and dukkah (my favourite combo). $22
Corner Store Cafe, Toowong
CSC serves their avo-t all day! It comes with two slabs of haloumi and a whole lotta love.
Garage, South Bank
Another simple avo-t. Sometimes simple is all you need! Garage serves their avo-t DIY with tomato delish. Yum!
Gunshop Cafe, West End
We added a bitta extra protein to our brekky. This avo-t came with rye bread and labna which was a nice addition! On the exy side.
Jacu Espresso, Morningside
Jacu offers a small breakfast menu but obviously includes the brissy fave avo-t topped with pickled onion, sesame seeds and leafy greens. Reasonably priced too!
Pineapple Express Superfood Box, James Street New Farm
This grab and go avo-t is the perfect breakfast, mid morning, lunchtime really anytime staple! Crusty bread topped with hummus, feta and tomato.
Samson & Sophie, Teneriffe
S&S serve up a killer Avo-t with dukkah and lime with the optional addition of eggs or bacon you can’t go wrong.
The Farm, Byron Bay
This is one of the extreme avo-t on the list. We added some sneaky eggs but otherwise The Farm add local ingredients to their avo-t to make it irresistible!
