BREKKY REVIEW: Little Clive, Annerly

Little Clive has recently popped up on the foodie scene in Brisbane. Boasting great coffee and gourmet breakfast and lunch options, we ventured out of our way to visit.

Finally, somewhere that gives you less than 10 options. Yes, I am saying this is a good thing! Too many places are trying to do too many things and it just gets too complicated!! This morning we had the Grilled halloumi with buttered kale, blistered tomatoes and pistachio crumble on sourdough $16 – but made things difficult (sorry guys) by changing halloumi for poached eggs! The staff were more than happy to cater for our needs 🙂 All of the elements of the dish were tasty although I feel like something was missing?

Secondly, I had the latest special “Pumpkin Garlic Focaccia with fried eggs and bruschetta” $16.50. This arrived and looked magnificent, all stacked beautifully. It was a huge portion, I think one slice of the focaccia would have been plenty. The bruschetta was crisp and fresh and the eggs were cooked to perfection.

OMG! The homemade muffins looked incredible. I somehow managed to have self-control and avoid them but they will be creeping into my dreams tonight. Today’s flavours for example were “Maple Granola” and some form of chocolate I didn’t read the sign because I was drooling too much. It had a chocolate injection on top – I lost the plot. Check out their Instagram page for more mouth watering flavours.

I didn’t try any of the coffee today. They serve Vivo Coffee, throughout our stay there were lots of people stopping in for a take away coffee because of it’s great location and lots of parking. They also offer cold pressed juices.

There were not too many people up as early as us for brekky (7am). Which worked in our favour. Our food arrived quickly and all of the staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Little Clive is in a great spot on Logan road, it is in a complex with alot of other shops although there is no street frontage so I drove straight past! Plenty of parking available onsite! There is lots of seating outdoors and indoors with some big gas heaters!

The Verdict: Little Clive was a cute little spot for breakfast. Personally, a little bit overpriced for my liking. I am going to give them a 6/10.
