BREKKY REVIEW: Botanica, Red Hill

Botanica Real Food is a great concept. It is simple enough you walk in choose from a range of salads and sweets and walk out again. What makes it so good is that they somehow always manage to get it right. The perfect amount of cauliflower to broccoli topped with the perfect dressing you couldn’t possibly create at home. I decided to mix it up one morning and try there brekky options.

The breakfast option has been around for about 12 months now. Similar to the lunch and dinner options you choose as many combinations as you like. On offer my morning was:

  • Rum and raisin porridge
  • Coconut Yoghurt (Dairy Free)
  • Greek Yoghurt
  • Seasonal Fruit Salad
  • Strawberry Bircher
  • Raspberry Chia Pudding

I chose the bolded options and was very happy with my decisions. All layered up in the perfect takeaway container for $10. All of the fiber kept me full for so long!

They offer a range of cold drinks, I think a take away coffee cart could be a good idea but you can always pop in to Plum Tucker Cafe next door.

I was hanging out for one of their notorious cupcakes unfortunately I was way too early. They normally start serving sweets around 9am.

On my visit it was very quiet and the server was attentive although I have heard it can be a little hit and miss.

Botanica is on Enogerra Tce in Red Hill just minutes away from the CBD and Paddington. They have done a great job with the fit out it is crisp and colourful.

The Verdict: Botanica are really doing great things. It’s nice to see people going back to the basics and serving healthy food at affordable prices. Overall 8/10
