BREKKY REVIEW: Willow and Spoon, Windsor

I have driven past Willow and Spoon many times but never dropped in and after our visit I am disappointed that I haven’t sooner! They are open seven days until 2pm but also serve monthly themed dinners which look fab-u-lous!

Food

The menu was very appealing, it really caters for everyone (vegetarians, gluten free). It even has a kiddies menu which you don’t often find at cafes.

Upon recommendation we had the “Athena” sautรฉed garlic field mushrooms with Haloumi, Cous Cous, rocket, Harissa yoghurt topped with a fried egg $17. The egg was perfectly cooked the the Harissa was not too spicy or over powering.

We also tried the “Calypso” buttermilk pancakes with house made malteasers, vanilla bean anglaise and strawberries $15. The pancakes were fluffy and the anglaise was not too sweet which I enjoyed. The malteasers were an interesting addition although I personally think adding more fruit would have been tastier.

Coffee

Our coffees arrived very quickly and had the perfect amount of froth. The flavour was good although I would have liked mine a little bit hotter. They offer a big selection of teas as well.

Location

Willow and Spoon is located at 170 New Market Road, Wilston. It has is a busy street me perfect for pulling over for a quick grab and go coffee. There is lots of street parking. The cafe offers cosy seating inside and outside

 Service

I cannot talk more highly of the service we received. All of the staff were very welcoming and accomodating, they made us feel very welcome. Our food and coffees arrived at a lightening speed. There is high chairs for the little ones and water bowls for the furry ones. I would recommend making a booking on the weekend as it can get busy!

The Verdict: We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Wilow and Spoon and can see how so many people do. They really cater to suit everyone’s needs. Overall 9/10.
