BREKKY REVIEW: Wilde Kitchen, Teneriffe

Wilde Kitchen is sending waves through the competitive Teneriffe scene. Just off Vernon Terrace Wilde offers a Wilde menu. They offer a whole range of options even for the difficult paleo, gluten free, dairy free and vegan.

Food

Choosing breakfast off the menu proved difficult. I eventually decided on the Green Smoothie Bowl with Fresh Berries and a Muesli Crumb $15.50. It was tasty although I couldn’t tell you what greens were in it. It wasn’t on the menu or the specials board.

It was surprisingly creamy and ticked all of the boxes – vegan, gluten free, paleo and dairy free.

The next meal we tried was the Wilde Plate with Bacon, Eggs, Haloumi and Avocado $18.50. Unfortunately the dish was lacking flavour and seasoning.

Coffee

Unfortunately, the coffee is something I cannot rave about. I had a coconut milk cap which was unfortunately undrinkable. Teneriffe is a competitive area so it will be imperative they pick up their act to keep up.

Service

Wilde was fairly quiet when we came in for breakfast. It is counter service although we couldn’t find any signs that said so. The staff were not overly friendly and personable. Our meals arrived in good time but the staff just dropped them and ran.

Location

Wilde has set up in the location formerly occupied by Primal Pantry. They have a similar set up
