Are you on the Kombucha band wagon? Its delicious flavours can be incorporated into so many foods and drinks but do you know how good it is for you and why? See below the pro’s and con’s of Kombucha.
- Improves digestion
- Contains probiotics (essential for gut health)
- Reduces inflammation within the body
- Energy source
- Stimulates the immune system
I’ve tried to brew our own Kombucha and don’t get me wrong it was delicious. But then I came across Rok Kombucha and I have to say I haven’t made a batch of my own since. If you know whats good for you, you’ll order a few boxes to keep you going for the next few weeks. Rok Kombucha comes in glass bottles (a necessity for us to reduce our plastic use for environmental and personal health reasons). So far I have had the passionfruit and ginger flavours. Both are amazing!! A great healthy alternative to other drinks (e.g. soft drink) for when people come over and you want to offer them more than just water. Even better – they’re organic!
If you struggle with gut issues (e.g. IBS), unfortunately Kombucha probably contains too much bacteria for you to handle. Although its full of beneficial bacteria, some fermented foods can be triggers. Before trying Kombucha it might be best to run past your natural health practitioner.
